our story

KIRBY WOODSON

Kirby Woodson, owner and founder of Petite Alma, has a varied design background with a strong focus on newborn and children’s clothing as well as stationery design. Born and raised in Texas, she left home for New York City to design for babyGap, then moved to Paris to design for the French children’s company, Bonpoint. It was there, inspired by Parisian style, that Kirby began designing stationery as a hobby. In 2002, she returned to New York to design a line of clothing for Princess Marie Chantal of Greece, and also launched a layette line for Madeleine Wolcott Imports. Kirby continues to consult worldwide in the children’s clothing industry.

PETITE ALMA

Inundated with projects for private clientele, in 2004 Kirby launched Petite Alma (named after an adorable four-year old model that she worked with in Paris). The studio began with a strong focus on the baby and children’s market, and then branched out into adult invitations, wedding stationery and personalized paper products. Today, Petite Alma is a multidisciplinary design studio based in the heart of Manhattan. The team is currently working on a range of projects such as baby bedding, tabletop sets and a long-awaited return to the world of children’s fashion. So be on the lookout for more Petite Alma to come!
