Petite Alma (named after an adorable four-year-old model Kirby worked with in Paris) began in 2003 with a focus on the baby and children’s market. We expanded into adult invitations, wedding stationery and personalized paper products, and now enjoy working on a variety of projects as a multidisciplinary design studio. We take pride in helping our clients, large and small, make their mark on the world and foster connections through branding, illustration, typography, logo and stationery design.

Our founder, Kirby Woodson, was born and raised in Texas. Kirby left Texas for New York City to design for babyGap, then moved to Paris to design for the French children’s company Bonpoint. It was there that she began designing stationery as a hobby. In 2002 she returned to New York to design a line of clothing for Princess Marie Chantal of Greece, and also launched a layette line for Madeleine Wolcott Imports. As her stationery hobby grew full time and fostered new partnerships in logo design and branding, Petite Alma developed into the studio it is today.

Petite Alma offers a range of creative services including graphic design, stationery design, brand identity, illustrative work and typography.  We also offer creative direction and consulting services in the paper goods and stationery industry.

Petite Alma's clients include Anthropologie, Atelier Rosemood, Babyccino, Barnes and Noble, Galison, Hallmark, Le Petit Montessori, MoMA Design store, Shutterfly, Tattly Tattoos, Tinyprints and Wedding Paper Divas.

At Petite Alma we believe in the little things, in small gestures that make a big impact. We strive for simplicity and clarity without clutter, flash, or fuss. Through understated, elegant design, we aim to inspire creative expression and help others spread joy.
